CHARACTER

Name: The name they are known by.
Kiriya Kujo
True Name: The name the sea cries.
Kiriya
Canon: Kamen Rider Ex-Aid (immediately following the end of Episode 12, where he dies)
Age: 27
History: Wiki's here.

Powers/Abilities: Kiriya's primary ability is to transform into Kamen Rider Lazer through the use of a belt called a Gamer Driver and a corresponding video game cartridge, called a Gashat. He uses the Bakusou Bike Gashat to access Lazer's Level 1 and 2 transformations, and he uses the addition of the Girigiri Chanbara Gashat to access Lazer's Level 3 transformation. Lazer is different from the other Kamen Riders of his canon in that while his Level 1 form is the chibi Rider form all Ex-Aid Riders have at the first level and his Level 3 form is also a normal humanoid armored form, his Level 2 form is that of a literal motorcycle. He is incapable of activating his finishing technique or hitting his maximum speed in Level 2 without the presence of a rider, and he will not allow just anyone to ride him with that in mind. Level 3 is his strongest form, and while in that form he can produce a weapon called the Gashacon Sparrow, which can work either as a bow or a pair of handheld scythes and can be used to unleash a very neon finishing attack. The Gamer Driver can only be used by someone who has successfully undergone the operation to become a Kamen Rider, which essentially innoculates the user against the Bugster Virus. Attempting to use the Gamer Driver without this operation will cause the would-be user to die a very sudden and painful death. While Kiriya does understand what the surgery entails, he does not have the medical capabilities necessary to perform that operation on someone else. He's a coroner, not a surgeon.

It is important to note that in Rider form, there's a life meter on the armor (or side of the motorcycle as the case may be) at all times. The life meter is not for show--those hit points count and will deplete as Kiriya takes damage. If Kiriya's HP falls to zero while he's in Rider form, he will die and the Gamer Driver will announce a Game Over. He has now experienced this personally and would prefer not to repeat the experience. He will also not leave behind a body, as is shown with his death scene in canon.

Somehow, Kiriya (as with all Kamen Rider characters) also has the ability to carry the Gamer Driver and his Gashats on his person without there being any noticeable bulk in his pockets or without his even having any pockets that look to be large enough to hold the thing. This ability only extends to his transformation equipment and is more of a narrative conceit than an actual power.

Inventory: What do they have on them on arrival? Gamer Driver, Bakusou Bike Gashat, Girigiri Chanbara Gashat, Gamerscope (basically just a fancy stethoscope that can read vitals and detect the Bugster virus), his jacket, sunglasses, wallet, and the clothes he was wearing at the time of his death.

Job History:
Coroner/Medical Researcher - He's a licensed physician and is responsible for assessing people's causes of death. He's had medical training, is not fazed by dead bodies, and has carried out quite a bit of detective work in the line of duty.

Kamen Rider - Primary job duities involve rescuing people from the Bugster virus--i.e. performing "surgery" (engaging the Bugster in combat and defeating it, thus freeing the host) to reduce loss of life from the virus. Applicable skills involve being well-versed in combat and having the ability to transform into a Kamen Rider.

Suppressions: Kiriya is a lying liar who lies. He's got a complicated relationship with truth, for he believes that truth is one of the most dangerous things there is. He holds his cards close and plays them when he thinks is appropriate, but sometimes, he'd like to just tell the truth. It's not that he never tells the truth, it's just that he does so sparingly and for good reason. Sometimes he thinks it would be nice to be honest with people for a change. He typically keeps a tight rein on the impulse. Sure, he'll tell you the sky is blue or grass is green or that he's eating a hamburger for lunch, but for the important questions? The desire to be completely honest with people is something he sees as a dangerous impulse best kept in check. The desire to lie? He just lets himself go with that.

He's nosy. If there is important information out there, he wants it. He can lose track of the big picture--he would tell himself that he's doing the wrong things for the right reasons--if he's not careful, all because he wants information and that control over the truth. He prioritizes things and in canon is really only concerned with information about the Bugster virus, but what if he just let himself go and try to gather all the deets? On everything? How many secrets could he uncover?

Rolling with headcanon here, but turning into a motorcycle can also mess with your head. What if undoing the transformation just doesn't take? What if he just gives up on responsibility and goes riding off into the sunset, what happens if he stays that way for too long?

He's dead at his current canonpoint so that's another thing that can ruin his day if he thinks about it for too long. He got played by Dan Kuroto, and he doesn't know if he wants revenge or if he respects getting outplayed so badly. He's inclined to blame himself--if he hadn't gotten overconfident and tried to use the Dangerous Zombie Gashat, he might have made it out of that encounter alive. Also…if he's dead, then where the hell is he right now? Is hell a cruise ship? Do consequences matter anymore? Can he just do whatever on the afterlife cruise? Can he just give up on the social contract?

Greatest Fear: That he died for nothing, that Emu and the others will not be able to carry on the work he left behind.

Greatest Desire: His greatest desire is to uncover the secrets behind the Bugster virus--he wants the truth of it all, and he wants to use that truth to put an end to it.

Greatest Regret: His friend Jungo fell victim to the game virus, and Kiriya told him the truth about his diagnosis. Jungo's distress over the diagnosis led him into a fatal accident, which Kiriya blames himself for. If he'd lied, he thinks, his friend would still be here.
